This course specifically focuses on erotic movement and dance, unpacking beliefs around eroticism, sensuality, pleasure and pleasure activism, while exploring patriarchal de-conditioning work.

As a result, for many with sexual trauma who are ready to explore this work it can be a healing experience. But for some, it can be triggering. Proceed with caution at your own pace and honor anything that may be coming up for you around this work.

What is ‘safe’ is relative to a person’s individual experience. What may be safe for one person, may not be safe for someone with sexual trauma. While having a completely safe space for everyone cannot be guaranteed, I promise you that I do everything in my power to make a safe-as-possible space. I also make myself 100% available to any and all concerns that may arise throughout your experience during this course experience.

Although I am not a licensed therapist, it is worth noting that in addition to being a mentor, I am trained and certified in emergency medicine and response. I have rendered care for over 15,000 patients in the course of my career, many of which were victims of sexual abuse. I was also a health college adjunct professor who was responsible for training medical professionals on how respond to trauma and sexual abuse.

For the movement portion, you may want some knee pads if you have sensitive knees or a mat but it's not absolutely necessary to even be on your knees at all... so do you.

This course and ritual is taught from the perspective of those who identify as women, as the main focus. Women and femme or nonbinary identifying persons who feel called to do this work are welcome to join.

However, my identity and lived experience is limited to being an Italian European, Mediterranean, cis hetero woman born in New York, with a specific learning disability living in a neurodiverse and racially-blended family.

I recognize my work in this area will not be done in my lifetime. I am committed to learning and doing this work for life. I am on my own journey always, actively working on discovering where I still have more work to do.

My intention is to create and hold welcoming, empowering, and as safe as possible spaces and experience for all, but I know that may not always be my impact.
